Miracle diets for excesses. No, thanks!

In NUTRITION it is clear that the law of minimum effort DOES NOT EXIST. If you are looking for quick and miraculous results, the only thing you will find is a rebound effect and start over, and this IS NOT WHAT WE WANT!

After times of abuse and lack of control, such as Christmas or the holidays, your body does not need a DETOX, it needs to return to a good routine. If you don’t have it, it’s time to MARK IT.

If you want to stop “PRE-BUSY” of post-Christmas or post-summer, BUSY the remaining 340 days. The really important thing is not what you do on those days… but what YES you can do the rest of the year. This only depends on you.

If you are thinking of putting a point and aside, change your perspective on diets. Make your diet your habit. It is the parties that should have a specific time and an end date, and not your diet. I am going to give you some tips to avoid miracle diets, escape excesses and have a healthy and balanced diet.

12 post-excess tips:

  • Start a healthy routine

That adapts to your schedules, your tastes and preferences and your pace of life. Plan the week and manage your time. It is the most valuable thing we have! Set yourself a realistic and achievable goal. It is useless to believe that we are going to achieve everything in two days and then realize that we failed in the attempt. Go step by step, adapting to the new changes. After the first month it will become a routine and everything will go smoothly.

  • Empty your pantry of “the less healthy”.

Get rid of all the remains of the big binge. Do not put obstacles in the way. Choose well what you write on your shopping list and do not get out of there. What is not bought, is not eaten. That is 100% sure.

  • Fill your fridge with VEGETABLES

50% of your main meals should be FRUITS, VEGETABLES AND VEGETABLES. ½ of your plate should be VEGETABLES such as: fresh spinach, tomato, superfood broccoli, leeks, zucchini, pumpkin, asparagus, aubergines… choose the ones you like best. You have variety to get out of the lettuce.

  • Eat fruit consciously

And it is that on many occasions we like fruit, but we forget about it. Keep it in mind and eat at least 2 pieces of fruit a day, whole and fresh.

  • Proteins!

¼ of your plate should be HEALTHY PROTEIN: Legumes, lean meats, white and blue fish and eggs. Choose your option or options and complement them well to have a balanced diet. The vegan or vegetarian option is always well scheduled.

  • Do not eliminate HYDRATES from your diet

We also need them to lose weight, but in its proper measure and form. The other ¼ of your plate that we were missing must be COMPLEX CARBON HYDRATE. Take them whole grains. If you like bread, eat real whole wheat bread. Rice and whole wheat pasta. Look at its ingredients and choose real whole grains, don’t mix them. Tubers such as potatoes or sweet potatoes are cooked or baked and do not exceed the size of a fist.

  • Avoid insane snacking

Take healthy snacks between meals: 1 handful of raw nuts, raw carrots, celery, some piece of fruit like a banana will keep you feeling full.

  • Eat two dairy products a day

They are not essential foods; it is one more option. If you take them, avoid light, superlight and mega light formats. For that we already have water that is free, it does not provide us with calories and it does not quench us, it quenches our thirst and in some cases it can even deceive our stomach. Take natural dairy with no more additives than pasteurized milk and lactic ferments. Natural yogurt or whipped fresh cheese are two good options to include.

  • Consume less processed products

Foods with hidden sugar, hydrogenated fats, additives… They are considered suitable processed: Legumes cooked in a boat, some vegetables in a boat, canned corn, canned fish… Take a good look at the ingredients, they should only have water, salt and, if anything, some antioxidant or canned with olive oil or natural.

  • Avoid juices or fruit juices, soft drinks even if they are zero and alcoholic beverages

This will be your first big detox of the year: Drink water. Add to your pitcher some lemon slices, some mint leaves… it won’t cleanse you inside, but it will help you drink more and it will add flavor!

  • Eliminate sugar or artificial sweeteners from coffee or tea

To get used to the taste, gradually reduce the dose.

  • Get active

Without effort there is no reward. No one said it was easy, but if you want to stay in line, you’ve got to sweat it out. This will be your second best detox after excesses. Sweat is one of the systems that our body has to eliminate toxins, let’s eliminate toxins by moving! Increasing muscle mass speeds up our metabolism and spends more calories at rest. This is indeed a calorie burner.

Starting the day with the aim of being better than the previous one is a great goal to achieve. You just need to believe, want and act. Because power, YOU CAN!
